After taking a walk around or training grounds last Sunday I thought it might be cool to take a pic and share this plant with you guys. This is Arisaema triphyllum aka "Jack in the Pulpit". Or sometimes known as the Indian Turnip.

Warning! Do not consume this plant raw!

If the plant is properly dried or cooked it can be eaten as a root vegetable. The roots can be cut into very thin slices and allowed to dry for several months, after which they are eaten like potato chips, crumbled to make a cereal or ground into a cocoa-flavored powder for making biscuits and cakes.

It is used in alternative medicine, it is acrid, antiseptic, diaphoretic, expectorant, irritant and stimulant.

A preparation of the root was reported to have been used by Native Americans as a treatment for sore eyes. As well as to treat rheumatism, bronchitis, and snakebites and to "induce sterility"
